With adaptive re-use in mind, a San Francisco based Landscape Architecture firm found a SOMA warehouse to expand their offices and create new corporate headquarters. Approached as a design/build process we began by bead-blasting the interior envelope then inserted new modern elements to create the open, flexible and non-hierarchical office seating plan. A large, open kitchen was added with new roll-up doors, for employee or corporate gatherings. At the perimeter of the space are large conference rooms and two person “phone booths”, multi-function meeting areas as well as extensive materials library. Detailing and materials are simple to allow the perimeter walls for project pin-up to provide color and texture.
